Microsoft has updated the Intune Management Extension (IME) so that it checks for Windows app assignments as soon as the Enrollment Status Page (ESP) finishes. The result is quicker delivery of Win32 apps to devices immediately after Windows enrollment.
How it works
Previously, there could be a delay between the ESP completing and the extension picking up outstanding app assignments. With this change, the check is triggered at the point the ESP completes, so assigned Win32 apps begin installing sooner rather than waiting for the next scheduled evaluation.
Why it matters for admins
Apps that are not tracked during the ESP, or that are assigned outside the ESP profile, often account for the gap between a device reaching the desktop and being fully usable. Shortening that gap improves the out-of-box experience for end users and reduces early support calls about missing applications.
